the Village that was an Optical Illusion

Felice Varini certainly is an ambitious kind of artist and probably a very charismatic figure too, getting a whole village to agree on having circles painted on their houses. After projecting these rings onto the village they were applied to the houses, so that they appear like they are in the above panorama, giving the village a flat, postcardy appearance to it. I imagine it’s a very special sight. Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for Felice and the town of Vercorin, Switzerland, for making the project “Cercle et suite d’éclats” a fact :) You’ll find a panorama, and two close up pictures from another perspective after the jump. I ofcourse copied them from the site. (more…)

Craig Costello @ Stilwerk

In a similar style to painting the Krink Mini, mister Craig “KR” Costello fucks up the Stilwerk space in Hamburg, which is some kind of institute dedicated to design and everything that’s hip. Craig is the originator of my favourite make of markers, Krink, so I guess he has a right to spill precious paint like that. The video isn’t as flashy as the Mini one, but the result is nice. Let’s just hope they don’t play this out too much because then I’ll not be able to do it anymore :)

Beam Me Up

Artist unknown, unfortunately, I would have gladly given the mastermind behind this simple yet stunning visual enterprise the recognition he/she deserves.
