Robert Proch really does it with this video titled “Virus”. Robert is an animator, painter, graffiti artist and an art student in PoznaĆ, Poland. The video he came up with is simply awesome and exciting. Great tune too, by the Herbaliser. Found on Revok’s blog :)
Joe Kickass is back with a new video clip in collaboration with Morlockk Dilemma titled “Real MC’s” and been causing a fuss in the dutch and german hip-hop scene. The track is their contribution to newly released The Zeitgeist EP. In case anybody is interested, Joe is working with Project Mooncircle and Morlockk is rapping with Spoken View Records. The Zeitgeist EP is a collaboration between the two collectives.
I guess I’ll just jump onto the south african bandwagon supporting Jack Parow like everybody else. Got to know his music after I “met” with Die Antwoord. Sunny music! Never knew there were so many white people in SA :)
A video for one of the tracks on Massive Attack’s new album :) Music video/porno/documentary mashup. Interesting enough to see, the music is great, but definately not safe for work.
Zuid-Afrikaanse (south-african) next-level rap! Influenced by rap, rave, ninjas, “hi-tek shit”, yin yang and Kid Rock’s coupe back in the old days. “Die Antwoord” is signed to Watkykjy, check out their website(s) becaues they both allow you to snoop some more sounds.
Die Antwoord is a zef rap-rave crew from Cape Town, South Africa. Die Antwoord crew is Ninja, Yo-landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek. Die Antwoord is a lovable, mongrel-like entity made in South Africa, the love-child of many diverse cultures, black, white, coloured and alien, all pumped into one wild and crazy journey down the crooked path to enlightenment.
I got my hands on Nosaj Thing’s album today, heard great things about this LA producer. And it was all right, I’ve had the 36 minute long debut album “Drift” on repeat all day. Definately recommendable! Nothing but love for this guy, so go ahead and befriend Jason Chung on MySpace. You’re listening to the opening song, “Fog” which is my personal favourite I think. Dunno, I just love the arpeggio and the whole gloomy lot of it. There’s much more ear goodness on the album, and for those who just can’t get enough, I’ve included the movie clip to Nosaj Thing’s “Aquarium” after the jump. Nice storytelling! (more…)
They don’t call him Joe Kickass for nothing :) Check out this talent from my hometown Zoetermeer, raising the roof with some truely delicious, jazzy, old school hip hop. If you haven’t been able to catch the whole Joe Kickass vs. B.O.U.K.E. EP this is your shot at catching up. Joe released his debut album-ish something via Project Mooncircle, available for download for free!
